Let go and let God!...Definitely easier said than done, right? If you’re a human being, this will be hard because the only perfect one is Jesus. That’s why we need Him, every day.
It’s in our human nature to take control and do things on our own. Things start to get overwhelming. You feel like you’re drowning. If you reach out for help and cry out to God, you may just be surprised by that hand that pulls you out of these waves of life that you feel overtaking you. Goes to show you, it’s never too late for the Lord to reach down and breathe life back into your worn out heart.
“Come,” He said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately, Jesus reached out His hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” He said, “why did you doubt?”
And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
~Matthew 14:29-32
Now matter how strong the winds and waves are, nothing is impossible for God. No matter how weak, dark, or hopeless you feel, His love conquers all. Also, no matter how undeserving you feel, Jesus still died on that cross for YOU and will always pull you back into His arms of grace.
So, we don’t need to just let go and let God. It’s not quite that simple. We have to make that daily decision to let go of that grip and surrender. It’s that one on one time with Jesus where we lay things at His feet and let Him hold us.
We’re not meant to do life on our own. The best position to be in during any battle is on our knees in prayer. Releasing. Admitting that we need the Lord and His Spirit to give us the strength and comfort only He can provide.
Don’t just give into guilt of the lie of not being good enough. Sit at the feet of your Heavenly Father and let Him remind you who He is and how you are His child. He will never let you go.
“Come to Me, all who labor and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
~Matthew 11:28
