A lot of my life I have spent “waiting”…waiting for the next big thing. Something that will make me excited or “happier”.
What does it mean to be happy? Where do we get it from?
These are the questions we should always ask ourselves.
It’s ok to be excited and to romanticize th little moments in life that make your heart flutter.
That’s the point.
Looking at what is right in front of me. In front of you.
When I read my devotionals at night, the same theme seems to happen in every lesson I read.
Be grateful for what I have.
Open my eyes to the beauty around me.
Whether it’s the love of family, my dog’s kisses, a pretty sunset, my morning coffee with lots of creamer, planning a trip.
Being excited for the future but also taking in life one moment at a time.
My dad had a heart attack a few weeks ago.
Talk about stopping and counting my blessings.
The blessing to be alive and have another day.
All the love and support I got when this happened…it takes moments like that to truly see how loved you are.
The point is to stop chasing happiness and realize true happiness comes from being grateful.
A grateful heart will always find light in the darkest days.
